I signed the lease on my twenty-second birthday. It's built like an apartment more than a shop — a bar, a lounge with a red sectional, rugs I sourced myself, a DJ booth with the cap collection in it, racks of the pants. Behind a door there's a room that isn't open to the public.
The vitrine holds about thirty one-of-one belts and twenty-odd wallet chains at a time, and it rotates. Roughly sixty percent of what's in the building never goes on the website. The idea was simple: a serious collector deserves a room, a drink, and someone who'll sit down and explain exactly what they're looking at.
